Growing up in Liguria, amid waves crashing on mountains and tongues of asphalt rising to the sky, Virginia Cancellieri breathed a passion for two wheels as a child. Her dad introduced her to biking, and then to motorcycles, paving the way for a career that was always and everywhere out of the box. After competitive beginnings in road racing, Virginia switched to fixed-gear bike racing: no brakes, pure adrenaline. After finishing the wave, she anticipated the gravel trend, specializing in ultra-cycling competitions with two second-place finishes at the early The Traka, when pedaling on asphalt was out of the question. Virginia Cancellieri is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts, has an inordinate passion for surfing, and spends much of her time traveling in her trusty van. From solitary climbs to secret spots discovered along the way, Virginia doesn’t chase numbers and performance but seeks sensations and authentic relationships with places, people and nature.
